If you need to remove the latch on the coupler for any reason, do the following:

 

1)  unscrew the and remove the clamp bolt. You may have to push down on the spring-loaded protector plate to fully remove it.

 

2) Now push the clamp bolt through again and push out the clamp nut if it has not come out on it's own.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3) Use the clamp bolt to push out the collar holding the latch in place.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4) Pull out the latch and be careful not to lose the spring under the latch in the recess in the coupler.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Replacing

5) Put spring back in recess (thumb hole) and replace latch in coupler making sure that middle point of "m" on front of latch is inserted back in spring.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

7) Pushing down gently on latch to line up hole with collar, insert collar into coupler and through hole in latch.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

8) Push down on protector plate, insert clamp bolt through guide hole in plate and then through the collar inside the coupler.

 

9) Insert nut on end of clamp bolt and tighten clamp bolt until clamp nut is inside recess on coupler.

 

All done.
